Amana Villas, Seminyak, Bali, IDN Josh Architecture, Food, Hotels Romance. We were of the belief that good company, the right bottle of champagne and a Barry White mega mix could render any situation romantic, however, Amana Villas in Seminyak, Bali, has successfully blown that theory out of the water and set the bar high on our romantic expectations. Derived from the Indonesian term meaning peace and tranquility, Amana Villas truly lives up to its namesake. Situated in a peaceful and private sanctuary in the heart of Seminyak, the Villas are conveniently located moments from the junction of the famous "Food Street" and "Shop Street". With an abundance of boutiques including Bali based Australian designers Ebony Eve and Shakuhachi plus a quandary of bars and restaurants serving world class food, who could not be happy here?! But we digress, back to romance. A private transfer from the airport – a service offered to all guests, we arrive at Amana Villas. Upon arrival it’s immediately clear that Amana Villas are not content conforming to standard levels of luxury and service and genuinely aim to set new standards. Escorted to the Signature Villa via the stunning bamboo lined walkway which connects all 15 villas, we’re greeted by the outdoor stone bathtub filled with rose petals in one of the two private garden areas. All of the villas at Amana feature plunge pools with the two-story Signature Villa showcasing a stunning infinity pool with a waterfall flowing to the level below, creating both a visual spectacular from the master bedroom and a natural cooling system. Every reservation includes a 60-minute massage that beckons the question as to who in the couple deserves the treat. You could fight to the death to win the massage or arrange a couple’s massage in either the in-house spa or the villas private garden. The piece de resistance was not the delivery of breakfast each morning at your nominated time, nor was it the dedicated Butler each villa is serviced with during their stay but the private candle light dinner in our villa. After a busy day exploring the Bali sites (sunning ourselves at the beach), we arrived back to our villa to what looked like a scene out of a Baz Luhrmann movie. Floating lanterns, candles lining the pool, rose petals surrounding the dining setting and a private chef BBQing our chosen seafood dinner complete the making of a romantically adults only evening. If a couple’s getaway is what you seek, Amana Villas are the Mills & Boon of Bali - which adventure you choose is up to you.
